Welcome to Taneets Bakery!
Taneets Bakery is me, Tanita, a professionally trained graphic designer and self-taught cake maker and decorator located in Watford. I have worked as a magazine designer and creative director for the past 15 years, but have always had a passion for cake baking and decorating. I've now turned my hobby into a business, swapping printed pages for buttercream and fondant icing.
All my cakes are custom-made and I'm happy to work with your ideas or come up with suggestions based on your requirements. For each cake or cupcake order I will provide a moodboard and sketch to ensure you're happy with the design you will receive.
My cakes are baked at my (pet-free, non-smoking) home and I have a 5-star food hygiene rating from Watford Borough Council. All my ingredients are purchased from reputable suppliers.

Ordering process
After an initial consultation, I will provide an annotated moodboard and sketch of the cake or cupcakes that will be supplied. Any amendments to the design must be made at this stage. Once the moodboard is agreed, a £10 non-refundable deposit becomes payable. Any changes after this may not be accommodated. Delivery information must be confirmed at the time of order.
As much notice as possible is advised to avoid disappointment. A minimum of 7 days is recommended for orders, but for complex, bespoke designs I'd recommend at least a fortnight to ensure any special decorations/ingredients can be bought in time. The more notice you can give, the better! If you have any last-minute requests though, do get in touch and I'll do my best to help.
Pricing and deposit
Cakes start at £60 and cupcakes start at £2 per cupcake for a minimum order of 6. As every cake is different, prices vary due to the materials needed and the time involved. A quote will be provided at moodboard stage to cover the cake cost and any delivery charge. Once this has been agreed in writing, a non-refundable deposit of £10 becomes payable. 7-days prior to the cake delivery date, 50% of the remaining cost becomes due (to cover the cost of raw ingredients, any custom decorations and materials). If this is not received then work on your cake will not begin and I cannot guarantee I will be able to fulfil the original brief.
The balance must be covered 48 hours prior to delivery.
Payment need to be made via bank transfer. Unfortunately I cannot accept card payments or cash in person.
For cupcakes there is a minimum order of 6 for local-area delivery and 12 for other areas.
Any orders cancelled less than 7-days before the cake/cupcakes are to be delivered, are subject to a 50% charge. If the order is cancelled 48-hours before the cake/cupcakes are due to be delivered the full charge remains payable (less any delivery fee).
If for any reason Taneets Bakery is unable to fulfill an order due to illness or exceptional circumstances, we will offer a full refund, including the deposit.
Delivery
Taneets Bakery is located in Watford and delivery is available to the surrounding Hertfordshire area and north London.
Free local delivery within a 10-mile radius of WD17.
For delivery outside the local 10-mile radius there is a £10 flat rate charge plus £1 per mile.
Free delivery on orders over £100 within a 15-mile radius of WD17.
Delivery address, date and time must be confirmed at the time of booking. Any changes after the booking is confirmed may not accommodated.
Collection is not available.
Cakes are supplied on cake boards and both cakes and cupcakes are delivered in special cake and cupcake boxes.
Cakes and cupcakes can be set up at your wedding or party for an additional charge.
Allergy information
Unless you have informed us of any dietary requirements, all cakes made by Taneets Bakery contain the following allergens: gluten, dairy and eggs. They are made in an environment where trace amounts of other allergens may be present, including but not exclusive to, nuts, due to the nature of production.
Taneets Bakery accepts no liability for customers suffering allergic reactions from eating our cakes. It is the customer’s responsibility to make Taneets Bakery aware of any special dietary requirements that need to be accommodated in the making of their cake.
Storage information
Cakes and cupcakes should be consumed within 48-hours of delivery for them to be at their best.
Unless it is extremely hot, cakes and cupcakes shouldn't be stored in the fridge; keep them in their box in a cool place away from damp.
